Intertidal Biodiversity Workshop

Updating Perspectives About Change and Conservation of Intertidal Biodiversity in the Northeast Pacific Region.

Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre, April 25-27, 2004

Information for presenters

General: Talks should last a maximum of 15 minutes, with 5 minutes for questions. Ideally, speakers should attempt to link the content of their talk to the theme of the section in which they are speaking.

Overlap: Many of the participants of the Biodiversity Workshop will also be attending the Northwest Algal Symposium, so if you plan to speak about the same topic, be prepared to extend beyond your NWAS talk.

Abstracts: Workshop presentations will be summarized by a collection of abstracts in the programme booklet, so please send an electronic abstract to Colin Bates by April 15th.

A / V Equipment: Please contact Colin Bates by April 15th if you require Audio Visual equipment other than: PC computer equipment for Power Point presentations, slide projector, or overhead projector. To keep things moving along, do not expect to plug your own laptop into the projector.

Digital Presentations: Bring your digital presentation on a CD, and we will load it prior to the session in which you are presenting. Please note that the computer attached to the digital projector at the Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre is a PC; presentations prepared on a Mac can change somewhat when moved to a PC, i.e. some graphics can disappear or move, hence it is wise to try out your presentations on a PC regardless of the platform you used to prepare it. Do not plan to attach your own computer to the system - in my experience this often leads to delays. Any presentations prepared on Keynote (a Mac equivalent to Powerpoint) should be imported to Powerpoint prior to loading for presentation.
